How can we teach students to create a reverberant sound from the very beginning?
How can we teach self-motivated piano practice?
How can you generate more income for your piano studio?

Has All the Answers!
Dr. Joy Song began playing the piano because of her love for music, but as a child, she often considered quitting.
“Did you hear me? Remember to keep the left hand softer!”
“Keep those fingers firm!"
When Dr. Song became a teacher, she sought ways to make the learning process easier, faster, and more enjoyable, which led to the birth of the Icons—fun images like frogs, eagles, and fish that embody and communicate musical and technical concepts. Each icon, while simple in appearance, integrates her understanding of psychology, educational philosophy, pedagogy, anatomy, and physiology.
Dr. Song is the founder and director of the Korean Institute of Piano Pedagogy (KIPP), where she continues to innovate, finding new and enjoyable ways for students to learn to play the piano with imagination, musicality, and proper physical technique.

Reviews

"Joy Song has struck gold in her recent book, Piano Gifts for Young Children. Having done exhaustive research in all areas related to teaching children, she has developed what very well might be the definitive series of books to introduce children to the sacred art of music. In addition to the text itself, Dr. Song has exquisite taste in designing the most attractive graphics. She has done this in her translation of my book on Chopin’s notational indications. Clearly, that book is the most attractive one of all of my publications. It is a privilege to give Dr. Joy Song my wholehearted endorsement on her series of books for children, plus all of her publications."
- Dr, Seymour Bernstein, Internationally known pianist, teacher, composer and lecturer, U.S.A.
"Dr. Joy Song’s Icon Gifts has provided the piano teacher with an imaginative tool for conveying difficult concepts. When using these playful and creative icons, children can easily learn to comfortably move their bodies while producing beautiful tone. In addition, the icons help piano students listen and play with creativity and musical understanding."
- Dr. Lorri Turcios, Division of Music, Bob Jones University, South Carolina, U.S.A
"Dr. Joy Song’s piano method books for young beginners are highly innovative. The icon approach makes musical concepts easy to understand and execute, and learning the piano becomes so much more fun and enjoyable."
